The Tots at Tennis method is based on the following human tendencies... to explore,concerntrate,be independent, make decisions, use the creative imaginantion, extract ideas from experience as well as share with a group and better one's effort. Through tennis they can do all of this whilst having fun learning.
Futhermore, a child learns from direct contact with other children and the environment. The Tots at Tennis methodology ensures that the positive learning environment is created to promote learning and play.
Using a guided discovery approach, we expose the children to basic tennis skills , knowledge and values of play, all whilst taking into account the various styles of learning. We continuously adapt and improve the learning environment and provide well thought out lessons in order to sustain the interest of your child in tennis. Our well prepared enviroment is essential to the success of a child's progression.
We have carefully chosen materials for each lesson that encourage children to work and enjoy themselves.We set up large and small apparatus to develop gross and fine motor skills, as well as use colour to develop spatial and temporal judgement, problem solving and thinking.
There is room for individual and group activity, as we strive to see each child develop emotionally, socially, intellectually and physically. Our main goal is to instill a strong belief in themselves, a strong desire to learn and a love for physical activity through tennis.
